Dr. Spears graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.  He practiced at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic in Winter Park, FL for 8 years, where he was the team physician for the NBA's Orlando Magic.  He joined his current practice in 1997.  Dr. Spears is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Spears specializes in sports medicine having completed a one year sports medicine fellowship with Dr. James R Andrews in Birmingham, AL. 

Dr. Spears and his wife, Gayle, have 2 children.  In his spare time, he enjoys running marathons and playing golf.
